We are a happy (and busy!) family of four. Ever since Alyssa's arrival in May of 2007, we have been running. Now that she is running, too, we have had to pick up the pace. Things only picked up speed once Andrew joined the race in February of 2010. We have little buddies for shopping trips and outings and are really enjoying new experiences (well, most of them are only new to Alyssa and Andrew, but isn't it amazing how things feel new when you are watching munchkins experience them for the first time?) Everything seems more fun these days!
Michael and I have been together since October of 1997. We met in 9th grade Geometry class, however, and I spent much of high school trying to set him up with friends of mine. Perhaps I would have done better in Geometry if I was more interested in proofs than Mike! He started taking me to school with him in our freshman year at NC State University. When I blew out the candles on my 18th birthday cake, I wished for the chance to go out with him... it is the first time I can honestly say my wish came true!
A little over 4 years later, we graduated from State and got married, in December of 2001. We bought our first house in Raleigh, NC, that January, and stayed there until we moved to Rolesville, NC in April of 2006. We wanted to get into a kid-friendly house so we would be ready when the time came. We're so glad we didn't wait!
We love to watch Alyssa dote on her new brother. I can't wait for him to be big enough to return the favor! Since Mike and I both come from 3 child families, we know how much it means to have sibling growing up and are so glad that our kids will have each other. Much of our free time is spent just hanging out together or with my family. Mike enjoys web programming and other web-based activities, as well as helping me scope out good deals and playing some of his old-school video games. I LOVE to scrapbook and do lots of various other craft projects to keep myself busy. Now that Alyssa and Andrew are here, I have LOTS of scrapbooking to catch up on, but I am spending much of my time couponing to save money so we can be debt free!
Alyssa is currently into Disney movies (especially Toy Story!) and pretend tea parties, although that can change at a moments notice. Andrew is mostly into shrieking (he thinks it is fun!) and keeping us up at night. Ohhhhhh, to be able to sleep 6 hours at a time for more than 2 nights in a row.....
